Thanks so much for all the helpful info. It sounds like it won't be worth it for me to take my kids there since it would be over an hour drive there from Cave Creek. I have another train question for any locals or experienced Phoenix area friends. I would like to take my kids on a short train ride just for fun but I also would like a western type attraction (like Rawhide used to be but I know it is only open on holidays now). Does anything similar to this exist? It can be touristy or hokey. I just like to do something with a western feel since its my kids first time in Arizona. They are 8, 5, and 7 months. I have read about Mccormick station.

Hi & Thanks for your question. The saloon is open from 11:00 until 21:00. Most of the other shops and businesses seem to close around 17:00. Because you can still get to the Saloon after everything else is closed, I would think that you would still be able to walk around the town and look at the exhibits until 21:00. I believe that after the saloon closes, there are Security Patrols during the night, throughout the whole town. To protect it from vandals and thieves. Hope that this helps
