Four of the five routes will be on American's smallest widebody, the 234-seat Boeing 787-8. With fewer premium seats, it is well-suited to such thin, seasonal, leisure-driven links. Unless something replaces it in the meantime, Dallas/Fort Worth-Athens will become American's new longest 787-8 route by distance next summer.
