Amid new details about how Caleb Williams initially tried to avoid playing for the Chicago Bears, the former Heisman winner was apparently living large during his time at USC.

That's why current franchise passer Caleb Williams, the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, actually sought a solution to avoid becoming a Bear prior to last year's draft, according to an ESPN report.

Their concerns weren't unfounded. Both head coach Matt Eberflus and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron were fired during the regular season, and even Bears general manager Ryan Poles admitted this offseason that "steps were skipped" in preparing Williams for his rookie season.
