Cruz Azul head coach Vicente Sanchez celebrated the team's 5-0 triumph over the Vancouver Whitecaps to win the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup before adding his future with the Liga MX club remains in question.

Mexico's Cruz Azul smashed the Vancouver Whitecaps 5-0 to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup on Sunday for a record-equalling seventh time.Angel Sepulveda scored twice for Cruz Azul, who led 4-0 at half-time in Mexico City and equal rivals Club America's record of seven CONCACAF titles.

This is the fourth consecutive time that an MLS side and a Liga MX side have faced off in a Champions Cup final, and three of those times, the Liga MX side has gone on to lift the championship. With Cruz Azul's dominance, Vancouver never took a shot in the match and was unable to execute their game.
