A devastating tornado in Kentucky damaged hundreds of homes, tossed vehicles, left many homeless, and killed at least 19 people, most of them in southeastern Laurel County.

The National Weather Service said a “multitude of hazardous weather” would impact the U.S. over the next several days — from thunderstorms and potentially baseball-sized hail on the Plains, to heavy mountain snow in the West and dangerous heat in the South.

First responders and residents are surveying the damage after a tornado caused serious destruction in parts of Bennett. Ronnie was outside of her home in Bennett on Sunday afternoon when she noticed an alert on her phone.
