Less than 100 days later, Lawson heads to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, as Red Bull has decided after just two races to switch Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda. Tsuonda will make his Red Bull debut at his home race, the Japanese Grand Prix.

Barely three months ago, Yuki Tsunoda’s window to drive for Red Bull Racing in Formula One appeared to have closed. Despite putting forward a strong case through the 2024 season for its sister team, RB, Red Bull passed over Tsunoda when replacing Sergio Pérez. Instead, it promoted Tsunoda’s teammate Liam Lawson into the seat.

An official statement from Red Bull has confirmed that Liam Lawson will no longer drive for the team for the remainder of the 2025 Formula 1 season, starting from the Japanese Grand Prix next weekend. Red Bull chief Helmut Marko has revealed he has already had reason to cheer this season despite ongoing doubts over star driver Max Verstappen .
