Lewis Hamilton became “complacent” during his “easy” championship-winning years at Mercedes, with his move to Ferrari for F1 2025 bringing a “big shock” to the system. That is the claim of Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 World Champion, who reckons the seven-time World Champion “needs a helping hand to get his mojo back.”

Lewis Hamilton says he feels the needs to “apologise” to Ferrari after his “unacceptable” exit from the opening segment of qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix. Hamilton failed to make the cut for Q2 by 0.031s and will start the race from 16th on the grid after his best lap in qualifying was deleted for a track limits infringement.

No wins. Nary even a podium finish. And virtually no hope of a championship. Lewis Hamilton is so fed up with his results at Ferrari midway through his first season with the team that he’s taking matters into his own hands.
