The Food and Drug Administration has closed an investigation into a listeria outbreak that killed one person and sickened 10 in several western states, health officials announced Thursday.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is investigating what it describes as an "extensive outbreak" of the bacterial infection, which has been linked to one death and identified nine cases. Hundreds of ready-made products have been removed from supermarket shelves in what has been described as a "full precautionary recall."

Two Food Safety Authority (FSAI) prohibition orders were first issued due to potential concerns around listeria contamination in two Ballymaguire Foods products last week and at the end of June.
