NetEase has issued a public apology following a controversial ban that mistakenly flagged Marvel Rivals players as cheaters. The issue seemingly affected those using compatibility player programs and is a classic example of the anti-cheat system's mistaken identity.

Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games admits that a number of players have recently been hit with bans for cheating… even though they'd not been cheating at all.
