Mitch Marner, the NHL's top 2025 unrestricted free agent, is off the list after being traded to the Vegas Golden Knights and agreeing to a contract.

The deal sees the Golden Knights send Nicolas Roy to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Marner, who will avoid free agency by signing an eight-year, $96 million contract in Vegas. Marner will run the Golden Knights $12 million per year, which is less than some expected him to fetch on the open market.

Nicolas Hague was traded to the Nashville Predators by the Vegas Golden Knights and signed a four-year, $22 million contract on Monday. It has an average annual value of $5.5 million. The Golden Knights received center Colton Sissons and defenseman Jeremy Lauzon; the Predators also received a conditional third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
