Broadcaster NBC has agreed a $3bn deal to extend its coverage of the Olympic Games in the US beyond 2032, just days before the body that runs the world’s biggest sporting event elects a new president.

In a major deal, Comcast and the International Olympic Committee have inked a $3 billion deal that will keep NBCUniversal and Peacock as the TV and streaming home of the Olympic Games through 2036. The deal also includes other elements, with Comcast providing technical, video and advertising support to the IOC an the Olympic games.

Comcast is paying $3 billion to extend its Olympics rights deal through 2036. The renewal with the International Olympic Committee will give two more Olympic Games to NBCUniversal, including the 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City/Utah and the Summer Games in a city to be determined.
