Amtrak, after investing more than $4 billion in a year to improve its creaky infrastructure and aging fleet, said it expected to make a profit for the first time under President Trump.

The head of the Department of Government Efficiency suggested the move while speaking at a Morgan Stanley conference Wednesday.

Elon Musk recently told those gathered at the Morgan Stanley Technology Media & Telecom conference that anything that can be privatized should be privatized. Among the agencies Musk would like to see privatized are Amtrak and the U.S. Postal Service.

During a remote appearance at a technology conference in San Francisco, Musk told attendees the U.S. should privatize "as much as possible."
