Atlanta's trade is bigger than adding Lu Dort to its roster. It closed the door on testing the waters with the 2024 No. 1 pick.

The Thunder have traded Lu Dort to the Hawks, which, in effect, has extremely complicated the Lakers’ pursuit of Jonathan Kuminga. Since the Lakers no longer have an open roster spot, a free agency offer for Kuminga is off the table unless the Lakers’ front office decides to waive a player.

The Atlanta Hawks add another all-world perimeter defender in Lu Dort, who should wreak havoc alongside Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker on the wing.

LAS VEGAS – The Wizards defeated the Hawks, 91-83, in the 2026 NBA Summer League finale for both teams on Saturday. Washington held the lead for all but a few minutes in this game after a 24-15 first quarter. The Wizards closed on a 22-17 run over the final seven minutes.
