Qualifying for the 2025 Indianapolis 500 got underway on Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Alex Palou posted the fastest time in qualifying with a speed of 233.043 mph, narrowly edging out Scott McLaughlin (233.013 mph) and Josef Newgarden (233.004 mph).
Jacob Abel, a Louisville native, was bumped by his own teammate on Sunday. Then penalties were handed to Josef Newgarden, Will Power and Penske and others called for Abel to run in the 500.
