Saturday Night Live is new once again this week, with both a first-time Host and first-time Musical Guest. It's the second week in a row with two debuts at once, after comedian Nikki Glaser proved her sketch comedy chops and 20-year-old Sombr shared his old school sound mixed with Gen-Z attitude.

Saturday Night Live opened with Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) trying his best to deflect from Jeffrey Epstein, as the focus has turned on a vote next week to compel the release of Justice Department files on the convicted sexual predator.

Coming just over a year after the Wicked star last hosted SNL, the next Grande-led episode will air Dec. 20. Rather than Grande serving as her own musical guest - which she did the first time she hosted the show in 2016 - Cher will come aboard to perform.

Finally, for the last episode of 2025, Wicked: For Good actress Ariana Grande will host the Dec. 20 installment, with Hollywood icon (and "DJ Play a Christmas Song" singer) Cher serving as the musical guest for the first time since her debut SNL performance in 1987.
