Coughlin has come back to help the team get back on the winning track once again. He has part of three of the Giants' four Super Bowl victories. He was on Bill Parcells' coaching staff that won Super Bowl XXV in 1990, and then served as head coach of the Giants' two most recent championship teams in 2007 and 2011.

As the New York Giants pursue John Harbaugh as their next head coach, the front office has held several extensive discussions with the NFL’s top head coaching candidate. Multiple teams have expressed interest in Harbaugh, but the Giants have been particularly persistent in courting the former Baltimore Ravens head coach.

Let’s be clear: Getting Harbaugh was as good as the Giants could have done. It’s their best hire since landing Tom Coughlin in 2004. The Giants can only hope for similar results from Harbaugh.
