New York Jets running back Breece Hall and tight end Mason Taylor reportedly are expected to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL Week 8.
And on Sunday, Simpson had a unique perspective on one of the many of the Jets' pivotal plays in the game -- Breece Hall 's TD pass to rookie TE Mason Taylor that tied the game before Nick Folk 's PAT gave the Green & White their first and only lead of the game.
Curiously, Jets LB Jamien Sherwood, a starter and a defensive captain, did not play on defense in the first half, though he was on kickoff coverage teams. Aaron Glenn said after the game the reason was between him and Sherwood, an indication that it was disciplinary.
With the Jets trailing 10-0 in the second quarter, CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala pulled Hall aside to ask him about the swirling trade rumors. She paraphrased some of Hall's in-game comments, relaying that Hall told her "my job is to show up on Sundays. I either show this team I deserve to be here or I audition for other teams."
The New York Jets and Breece Hall will take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8 on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. In his most recent game, Hall put up the following stats: 11 carries, 38 yards. Hall (limited participation in practice, knee) is on the injury report this week. He does not currently have a game status listed.
Breece Hall ran for two touchdowns and threw the winning TD pass as New York erased a 15-point deficit late to win 39-38 on Sunday.
