Some Denny's restaurants will see a surcharge on meals with eggs. The SC-based diner chain is the latest to pass on higher costs linked to a bird flu outbreak.

Denny’s, the popular American diner chain, has reportedly joined a growing number of restaurants responding to the nationwide egg shortage by adding a temporary surcharge to its egg-based meals at some locations.

Denny's competitor Waffle House was the first national chain to add egg surcharges, announcing the first week of February an extra 50-cent cost per egg to all menu items.
