USC freshman Alijah Arenas, who was the No. 13 recruit in the ESPN 100, will need surgery after injuring his knee and will miss six to eight months, the school announced.

Arenas played in the NBA from 2001-2012 with four different teams. His best years came with the Washington Wizards, when he was named an all-star in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Alijah Arenas was supposed to begin his college career with the USC Trojans when the new season starts. However, that plan has been delayed after he tore his meniscus last month.

Arenas confirmed soon after that Alijah, 18, was "doing very well." Unfortunately, only last week, Alijah suffered a torn meniscus, putting his entire season in "jeopardy." ...
