Three takeaways from the Browns disappointing loss to the Patriots (Sports Illustrated) “The Cleveland Browns lose for the sixth time this season, falling 32-13 to the New England Patriots in a game that could have shfited momentum.”
Myles Garrett put on his Superman cape and tried to almost singlehandedly carry the Browns to a victory over the Patriots with a new single-game club-record 5 sacks, including a sack-fumble, which beat his own mark of 4.
FOXBOROUGH — Though the Browns lost 32-13 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Myles Garrett couldn’t have done much more to help his team. The defensive lineman set a Cleveland franchise record with five sacks and was living in New England’s backfield all afternoon. “I would throw the whole performance away for a win,” Garrett said.
Garrett came close to the NFL record in Week 8, but still needed multiple sacks to set a new record. Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas holds the record with seven sacks in a single game. He accomplished that feat against the Seattle Seahawks in 1990. Similarly to the Browns, the Chiefs actually lost that contest 17-16.
Patriots QB Drake Maye took a beating from Myles Garrett’s record-setting sack performance, but he still led New England to a commanding win over the Browns in Foxborough.
