In total, the £117,500 Taycan EV was travelling sideways for 46 minutes - equivalent to have a football match. But it could have carried on for longer had it not been for one

Supervised by Guinness World Records adjudicator Carl Saville, the record was validated using a professional GPS tracking system, which monitored distance traveled, throttle input, steering angle and G-forces. The Taycan GTS remained in its stock configuration, fitted with Michelin tires featuring 1mm spikes.

Porsche has set another new Guinness World Record. Professional Helmsmith Jens Richter spent 46 minutes looking out of the side windows of a Taycan GTS to complete the ‘longest ever continuous drift on ice by an EV’, chalking up the Taycan ’s fourth GWR.

After launching the Taycan in 2019, Porsche’s electric sports car has been on a Guinness World Record-breaking spree. In 2020, it set its first record after drifting 210 laps, covering over 242.171 km (26 miles) at the Porsche Experience Center in Germany in just 55 minutes.
