Goran Ivanisevic’s brief stint as 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina’s coach is over now that she is out of the Australian Open.

World No.1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek, Elina Svitolina, Elena Rybakina and other big players will be in action on Day 9 of the hard court major at the Melbourne Park.

Unseeded Lorenzo Sonego made it two Italians in the quarter-finals when he defeated hobbling 19-year-old American qualifier Tien 6-3 6-2 3-6 6-1, having also taken out Brazilian young gun Joao Fonseca in the second round.

Defending champion Jannik Sinner has moved into the quarterfinals at the Australian Open after beating Holger Rune during a match slowed down by medical timeouts for each player and a delay because the net got knocked loose.

As much as any top player, Sinner has been able to expose De Minaur’s lack of first-strike weaponry. The Aussie’s strength is his scrambling and counterpunching, but Sinner serves too well, hits too hard, places the ball too precisely for his defense to be effective. De Minaur hasn’t found a way to hurt, rattle, of disrupt him.

They also have a dead-even head-to-head record. Keys won their first two matches, and Rybakina came back to win the next two, including their only meeting of 2024, on hard courts in Miami. Keys has won eight straight matches in Adelaide and Melbourne, while Rybakina, with new coach Goran Ivanisevic, hasn’t dropped a set this week.

The Day 9 of the Australian Open 2025 is underway at Melbourne Park as it promises to deliver some fantastic and exciting tennis. Jannik Sinner will battle it out against Holger Rune, while Gael Monfils will take on Ben Shelton.

Iga Swiatek, Jannik Sinner, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina and N Sriram Balaji are amongst the big players who will be in action on Day 7 of the hard court major at Melbourne Park.

The Day 5 of the Australian Open 2025 will feature several big stars in action as Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli, Elena Rybakina amongst others in action.

In the men's singles category, Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev will be in action, while Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina and Ons Jabuer will also play their respective matches.
