Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds today (Friday 7 March) met chiefs for Fujitsu in Tokyo to begin talks over the cost of redress for victims of the Horizon Scandal.

More than 700 people were indicted on embezzlement and other charges by 2015, but the issue was later found to stem from flaws in Fujitsu's software.

However, Reynolds did confirm that changes to the ZEV Mandate have the backing of energy secretary Ed Miliband, even though any relaxation appears to be at odds with Miliband’s earlier vigorous support for keeping the ZEV Mandate intact.

The comments followed Japan and Britain's first 'two-plus-two' talks between the country's trade and foreign ministers.
