Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv Monday after reports of a missile launch from Yemen, sending residents running for shelter.

The Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen on Tuesday claimed to have attacked the international airport in Tel Aviv as well as targets in Jerusalem. Houthi military spokesman Yehya Saree said in a televised statement that Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport and an electricity plant in the Jerusalem area had been attacked with ballistic missiles.

The IDF has alleged that Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives were hiding inside the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia. Abu Safiya was initially detained on Dec. 27 during an IDF raid on the medical facility, which has been besieged multiple times by Israeli forces.

The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza. They launched a missile at Israel overnight.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Friday the successful execution of two military operations targeting the occupied city of Tel Aviv in the heart of occupied Palestinian territory. The operations involved a hypersonic ballistic missile, “Palestine-2,” and a drone strike using the “Jaffa” model.

Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of Sanaa on Friday as part of a weekly demonstration in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Those gathered waved flags, banners and rifles aloft as they chanted anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans.
