DJI issues an update for all drones in the USA which removes their geofences, unlocking all drones to fly over restricted zones, including prisons, airports, and the White House?

DJI has announced updates to its geofencing system (GEO) that applies to most of its consumer and enterprise drones in the United States. The changes took effect on January 13th on the DJI Fly and DJI Pilot flight apps.

DJI has lifted its geofence that prevents users from flying over restricted areas like nuclear power plants, airports and wildfires.

DJI drones will no longer enforce a geofenced No Fly Zone system. If an operator chooses to fly their DJI drone into restricted airspace, they will receive a warning, but they will not be diverted away by an automated system.
