A 27-year-old man from Erie faces animal cruelty charges after allegedly stabbing his dog several times and spraying aerosol into its eyes while the dog was confined in a cage.

A 21-year-old Upstate New York man has been sentenced to five years of probation and permanently banned from owning or having custody of any animals after pleading guilty to fatally stabbing a dog.
