Independence Day is always filled with festivities, and one of the many 4th of July traditions that always hold true is fireworks.

From small towns to big cities, Fourth of July celebrations, including parades and fireworks, will be held across the U.S. on Friday. One of the largest annual gatherings is the Macy's fireworks event in New York City.

In Greater Boston, the Fourth of July includes a number of annual traditions: music at the Hatch Shell, the presentation of the Declaration of Independence, and the reading of Frederick Douglass’s speech “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?
