An 8-month-old boy has a "slim" chance of survival after a woman who ran an unlicensed daycare in North Carolina slammed him into a changing table, slashing his brain, cops say.

The defendant, for her part, said she did not approach her boyfriend with two knives, police said. Investigators discounted this account of the incident after seeing cellphone video.
