WWE SmackDown highlighted the young title reign of Tiffany Stratton and gave the San Diego crowd a notable Rey Mysterio match.

Tiffany Stratton pinned Bayley clean in the middle of the ring in the first defense of her WWE Women's Championship in the main event of "WWE SmackDown."

– Saxton interviewed Tiffany Stratton backstage. Saxton said Bayley was extremely driven to win the WWE Women’s Championship. Tiffy said Bayley has had a career of big moments, but Tiffy has had big moments, too. In fact, Tiffy said, she is a Big Moment and now it’s Tiffy Time. Tiffy said toodles and left Saxton standing in the hallway.

Friday's episode of "WWE SmackDown" featured a strong, diverse slate of matches across a never-dull, three-hour show.

For the first time (which is incredible), Kevin Owens battled Rey Mysterio in a singles match. These two didn't go warp speed, but they made it count. Owens and Mysterio put on a show, with Owens picking up the win with a Powerbomb after he "inadvertently" knocked the official into the ropes and sent Mysterio off the top rope.

Stratton's first title defense comes against one of the most decorated women's champions in WWE history. Solo Sikoa is also set to return after losing to Roman Reigns in Tribal Combat on Jan. 6. Sikoa can no longer claim to be Tribal Chief but his New Bloodline is still terrorizing SmackDown.
