Lorne Michaels has softened over the years. David Spade, 60, said on his Fly On the Wall podcast that he is shocked over how the current Saturday Night Live cast members interact with the show's creator.

Spade and fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum couldn't believed how chummy some of the current "SNL" cast are with the big boss.

On another note, it was a joy to see David Spade back on SNL. The comedian was a central cast member in the early to mid 1990s, and while he’s had a great career playing a key role on numerous sitcoms and cranking out some underrated movie gems, there’s a segment of the population that will always remember him most fondly on Saturday Night Live.

Lorne Michaels created Saturday Night Live and has guided the show through 50 years of comedy. He knows what works and what doesn't, so when one cast member ignored Michaels' note, it carried a heavy consequence.
