WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A Spirit AeroSystems spokesperson confirmed that the company will furlough 250-350 employees working in two different Boeing 737 programs beginning later this month.

Spirit AeroSystems has presented its engineering union in Wichita with a four-year contract offer, the labor group and the aero parts supplier said on Friday.

Between 250-350 employees at Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita were notified Friday morning that their job will soon be furloughed for about a month because of a backlog, spokesperson Joe Buccino said.
