Reports indicate that the Big Ten has given the SEC an ultimatum before agreeing to make any changes to the College Football Playoff format.

Will the College Football Playoff expand? Will the SEC move to nine conference games? Those questions work in tandem for the Big Ten.

The CFP contract provides the SEC and Big Ten with the ability to impose changes they both want, but that doesn't matter if the conferences can't agree on those changes.
