King County reports first pediatric flu deaths of the 2024-25 season, urging vaccinations and prevention measures.

Two children have died from complications from the flu in King County last month. For reference, King County has not had a pediatric flu death since the 2022-23 flu season. The first child was an elementary-aged child who died on Feb. 14, and the second child, who was preschool-aged, died on Feb 21. The two cases are unrelated.

Normally, the market gains steam after December, but February represented “a bit of the wind coming out of the sails” of the market, one economist said.
