A former Hudson doctor has been sentenced to 8-12 years in prison for rape and sexual battery, according to WKYC and WJW.

A former Hudson doctor has been sentenced to prison for the rape of a young woman, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said Tuesday.

The sentencing came after Mahmud Kara was found guilty of rape and sexual battery by a Summit County jury in December 2024.

Mahmud Kara must also register as a Tier III sex offender every 90 days for the rest of his life upon release from prison.

A 58-year-old Hudson man who was sentenced to prison for an April 2023 rape must also register as a sex offender.
