Ohio State tight end Patrick Gurd is transferring to the school after visiting Cincinnati this past Thursday. Joe Royer's former teammate has appeared in 22 games across his Buckeye career with two catches for 15 yards. Cincinnati could use the depth at tight end and Gurd fit that nicely during his final season of eligibility.

Ohio State football dealt with a few departures via the transfer portal, but as we always say, once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye, and we want to continue to follow and cheer on all our former Ohio State players.

Following the National Championship win for Ohio State over Notre Dame, a number of Buckeyes had a decision to make. The transfer portal remained open for five days for players to enter. Meanwhile, some players were already in the portal but decided to finish out the title run with Ohio State.
