U.S. health officials are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella in contaminated cucumbers after nine people were hospitalized, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales because of a multistate Salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 20 people.

A recall for cucumbers from Bedner Growers, Inc. in Florida has been issued amid the fear of potential salmonella contamination. A salmonella outbreak investigation is also ongoing, as nearly 30 people have been reported sick related to the recalled cucumbers.
