But AST Spacemobile application states the system is capable to provide service to 58 degrees of boresight (see figure 1). "Nadir" we also call this angle looking straight down on earth. So that is a 116 degree field of view.

Oct 10, 2023 · So, I'm trying to find out what I can about ASTS Spacemobile (ASTS). They're a company developing satellite internet that works with standard 5G phones. Last week, they did the first call with this technology with Vodafone. Which sounds pretty great. And I think a lot of people would pay to have this as a service.

After all, Apple is a phone company. AST Spacemobile is a satellite company with 160 employees and 1000+ patents with incredible backing of mobile giants, and a majority owned successful nanosatellite and microsatellite company Nanoavionics. AST Spacemobile with Apple's resources would be scary good.

Mar 19, 2022 · AST currently have agreements with mobile network operators that cover over 1.5 billion subscribers which partners will instantly market the Spacemobile service to. Furthermore, AST will be able to leverage their partners spectrum, ground infrastructure, payment support as well as their subscriber bases.

This is not true at all. Biggest risk for ast and others is space x which has already announced they will be going after the same market. Do we forget how much money and influence space x has? I will invest some but don’t for a minute think this is an easy bet just cause of the technology. First movers and best tech don’t always mean a win.
