Abdul ‘Duke’ Fakir, the Four Tops co-founder and last living original member, passed away at 88. The Four Tops were a Detroit vocal quarter that started when they were in high school and Fakir befriended Levi Stubbs (over sports, not music). The eventually started The Four Aims and then changed their name to The Four Tops (because there was a popular quartet called The Aimes Brothers. The Four Tops had an earlier period on Chess Records in the 50s but achieved huge success on Motown in their 60s
