PERILS FOR BIRDS

Belize is for the birds! 479 birds, to be exact. Yep, that's the number of bird species that call Belize home, according to eBird, the world's largest biodiversity-related citizen science project. And this past weekend, birders worldwide celebrated eBird's "Global Big Day" where on May 9th, over 48k people logged over 114k checklists of bird sightings in one day — a new world record!
