Despite this yellow- legged frog’s muscular appearance, this species is prone to flight rather than fight when faced with danger. When frightened, they will dive to the bottom of a body of water and take refuge among stones or vegetation, remaining still until the threat has passed. Their ability to evade predators is further helped by their coloration, which usually blends well with the color of rocks and soil in their environment.
