On April 27, 1981 1981 Tommy “Wildfire” Rich won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at a house show in Augusta, Georgia with a win over Harley Race, shocking the wrestling world. Rich would lose the championship back to Race just four days later on May 1 in Gainesville, Georgia.
