The Katima Mulilo Town Council has sworn in its new political leadership. Kabende Kabende, from the Swapo Party, was elected as the new town mayor, with Charity Matongo-Mabuku, also from Swapo, as deputy mayor. Swapo's stronghold in the local authority extends to Kamwi Mazila, Royd Likando, and Nsala Muhongo, who serve as members of the management committee. Muhongo was also elected chairperson of the management committee. IPC’s Jimmy Sikwela and NDP’s Simasiku Mukendwa remain ordinary members.

Heroes Day preparations in full swing at Katima Mulilo By: Envaalde Matheus The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) says preparations are in full swing at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex in the Zambezi Region, which will host the 35th Heroes Day. Zambezi regional governor, Dorothy Mareka-Kabula, thanked the government for granting the region the honour of hosting the national commemoration, which will be held under the theme “Built on Bravery, Bound for a Prosperous Futu
