A massive flood in the Dhauliganga river was reported on Sunday morning after a glacier burst near Raini village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. The burst has damaged the Rishiganga power project and has forced the evacuation of people in the surrounding areas. “As a precaution, the flow of the Bhagirathi river has been stopped to prevent the flow of water of Alaknanda, Srinagar Dam and Rishikesh Dam have been emptied. SDRF is on alert,” said Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
