Matt “Guitar” Murphy, born in Sunflower, Mississippi, December 29, 1929. was an American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter. Murphy learned to play guitar when he was a child, In 1948, moved to Chicago, where he joined the Howlin’ Wolf Band, In 1952, he recorded with Little Junior Parker and Ike Turner, resulting in the release, “You’re My Angel”/“Bad Women, Bad Whiskey”.
